鑄鐵平板又稱鑄鐵平臺，外觀基本上是箱體式，工作面有長方形、正方形、圓形等，材料為HT200-300，QT400-600，采用刮研工藝，工作面上可加工V形、T形、U形槽、燕尾槽、圓孔、長孔等，是用于工件、設(shè)備檢測、劃線、裝配、焊接、組裝、鉚焊的平面基準量具。

鑄鐵平板的精度：0級、1級、2級、3級、精刨，根據(jù)用途來區(qū)分精度。

鑄鐵平臺可以用地錨器安裝，首先用戶根據(jù)鑄鐵平臺的圖紙做好地基和預(yù)埋孔，然后把地錨器放到提前設(shè)置的預(yù)留孔里，將鑄鐵平臺調(diào)整水平，鐵平臺根據(jù)用戶的要求設(shè)計安裝方式，地腳螺栓安裝。

鑄鐵平臺調(diào)至水平、負荷均勻分布于各支點上。環(huán)境溫度(20±5)℃。使用時應(yīng)避免振動。鑄鐵平臺采用墊鐵安裝的優(yōu)點，安裝快捷、移動方便。

延長鑄鐵平臺的壽命時在使用的過程中要注意不要在潮濕，有腐蝕、過高和過低的溫度環(huán)境下使用和存放鑄鐵平板使用后應(yīng)清洗干凈，搞好防銹工作。
